Service Description
Offers undergraduate and graduate Métis-specific educational programs.
Programs available:
- Northern Saskatchewan Indigenous Teacher Education Program (NSITEP) – Air Ronge
- A four-year Bachelor of Education degree program
- Created in partnership with the Gabriel Dumont Institute (GDI), the University of Regina, and the Lac La Ronge Indian Band (LLRIB)
- Emphasis on Northern Indigenous Culture, language, and land-based instruction
- Saskatchewan Urban Native Teacher Education Program (SUNTEP) – Prince Albert, Regina, Saskatoon
- A four-year Bachelor of Education degree program offered in partnership with the Ministry of Advanced Education, the University of Regina, and the University of Saskatchewan
- Focuses on Métis history, Michif language, social justice, and anti-racist/anti-oppressive education.
- Graduate Studies – Prince Albert
- Indigenous Community-Based Master of Education Program: a 30-credit hour, 10 courses offered on-site over a 2 ½ year period.
- Indigenous Ed Doctorate Program: offers a 24-credit hour plus nine Indigenous Dissertation of Practice (IDIP) hours.
Eligibility
Métis and First Nation applicants are given priority for seats in the program, and other applicants will be placed on a waitlist and notified if seats become in available.

Fees
To schedule an appointment to speak with an employment counsellor in regard to funding, call the office.
SUNTEP - program covers university tuition fees. Many students obtain a loan from the Canada - Saskatchewan Student Loan program.
NSITEP - tuition: $36,000 per student ($12,000 per year)
- Métis Nation University Sponsorship funding is available for qualified, registered Métis citizens. For sponsorship information visit the website
- Gabriel Dumont Scholarship Foundation scholarships and bursaries may be available for qualified applicants. For application deadlines visit the website
