Service Description
Offers a program that helps to address mental health needs in Indigenous Veterans and Frontline Protectors in the community and across the province by hosting land-based healing sessions. Primary aim of these sessions is to offer a safe and supportive environment where Indigenous Veterans and Frontline Protectors can explore holistic healing modalities that integrate physical, emotional and spiritual well-being.
Eligibility
Indigenous Personnel including Veterans and Frontline Protectors are preferred. Visit the website to find out the target demographic.
Application Process
Call or visit the website to find out about Indigenous Sweats. Participants should dress modestly. For men bring swim trunks and a towel. For women wear a long (maxi length) skirt or dress and bring a towel. These guidelines help to maintain the integrity and respect of the ceremony.
Fees
In keeping with tradition, it's customary to bring a small gift or donation as a gesture of respect and gratitude for the sweat lodge ceremony and Elders present. You might consider bringing an offering such as tobacco, sage, or a small monetary donation.
