Service Description
Offers individualized support services to help newcomers overcome barriers, adjust to life in Canada, and connect with community resources. Services include:
Case coordination – assists immigrants and refugees facing multiple barriers to settlement. Staff work with clients to develop a plan to help them move from vulnerable to safe situations and connect them with appropriate community resources.
Mentoring – clients are matched with a volunteer mentor for individualizing support. Meetings may focus on reducing isolation, improving language skills, preparing for exams, attending medical appointments, or connecting with community services.
Settlement Advice – provides information and referrals to address a wide range of settlement barriers, including legal issues, housing, relationships, parenting, transportation, employment, language learning, education, health, and general well-being.
Notary Public – provides notary services for documents required for immigration, settlement, and other legal matters.

Application Process
Register in person at one of the Global Gathering Place offices.
Documents Required
New clients need to show one item from each of the following categories:
1. Government Identification:
- Passport
- Identification card
- Driver’s license
2. Immigration Documents:
- Permanent Resident Card
- Confirmation of Permanent Residence (CoPR)
- Study Permit
- Work Permit
- Visitor Record
- Proof of Citizenship
