Service Description

Assists individuals in crisis in the immediate aftermath of crime or tragedy. Available 24 hours, seven days a week. Provides:

  • Emotional and practical support
  • Exploration of support systems and safety plans
  • Assistance with case information
  • Crime prevention tips
  • Court orientation and accompaniment
  • Resource materials
  • Referrals to community agencies
  • Liaison between officers and victims
  • Advocacy
  • Assistance with impact statements
  • Assistance with compensation programs.

Services to Beauval, Black Lake, Buffalo Narrows, Canoe Lake, Creighton, Fond Du Lac, Ile a la Crosse, La Ronge, Montreal Lake, Pelican Narrows, Pinehouse, Sandy Bay, Southend, Stony Rapids, and Wollaston.

Eligibility

Victims of crime and tragic events.

Application Process

- You can self-refer by contacting Victim Services at 306-425-3235 (collect calls accepted) or your local victim services office.
- An RCMP Officer may send a referral or contact the office on your behalf.
- A Crown Prosecutor may send a referral to the office on your behalf.
- Another person, community agency or group may contact the office on your behalf.
