Service Description

Helps reduce costs of dental costs for Canadian residents who have a family net income of less than $90,000 per year, who do not have dental insurance.

The program will be implemented in a phased-in approach:

  • Available to apply by mail:
    • Seniors ages 87+ in December 2023
    • Seniors ages 77-86 in January 2024
    • Seniors ages 72-76 in February 2024
    • Seniors ages 70-71 in March 2024.
  • Available to apply online:
    • Seniors ages 65-69 in May 2024
    • Adults ages 18-64 with a valid Disability Tax Credit Certificate in June 2024
    • Children under 18 years in June 2024
    • All remaining eligible Canadian residents in 2025.

To qualify, you must: be a Canadian resident; have an adjusted family net income under $90,000; not have access to employer/pension-sponsored or private dental insurance; and have filed your tax return in the previous year. If you have a spouse or common-law partner, you both need to meet the eligibility criteria to be able to qualify for the CDCP. Visit the website for details. The program will be implemented in a phased-in approach - see details above. Letters will be sent in phases by age group between December 2023 and March 2024 until all potential eligible seniors who are 70 years of age or older have been invited to apply for the CDCP.
