Service Description
All emergency ambulance services can be reached by dialing 9-1-1.
Provides emergency communications (dispatch) service to 39 rural emergency medical services, 65 fire departments and 55 medical first responder groups in southern Saskatchewan. EMS operates Regina, Indian Head and Whitewood EMS and has contracts with eight emergency medical services:
- HUTCH Ambulance Services, based in Moosomin
- Cupar Lions Volunteer Ambulance, based in Cupar
- Imperial Volunteer Ambulance Service, based in Imperial
- J.T. Ambulance Service, based in Grenfell
- Prairie Ambulance Care, based in Balcarres
- Soo Line Ambulance, based in the town of Milestone
- Touchwood EMS, based in Lestock
- Valley Ambulance Care, based in Fort Qu’Appelle
- Whitewood District Ambulance Service, based in Whitewood
Neonatal Transport: newborn transportation to the Neonatal Unit at the Regina General Hospital.
Also available to provide:
- Limited support to services outside Regina in the event of a major emergency or disaster involving chemical, biological and/or mass casualty events.
- Mass gathering medical care
Fees
Transport within Regina $325 plus $2.30 per kilometer outside city limits
Rural Transportation $245 plus 3.30 per kilometer
Seniors pay maximum of $275 - this does not apply to cancelled calls and not all transports are covered - eligibility is determined by the Ministry of Health.
*Cancelled calls may be subject to a charge of $162.50; plus $2.30 per kilometer outside of city limits
