Service Description
Helps alleviate financial pressures for people with neuromuscular disorders and their families and enables Canadians with neuromuscular disorders to lead independent lives.

- Equipment Program: Western Canada – helps clients to obtain a wide range of devices to aid with mobility, breathing, sitting and positioning, accessibility, communications, and sleeping.
- Community Services Fund – financial assistance to support needs such as medical travel, respite care, adapted recreation programs, etc.
- Scholarships and Bursaries.
Eligibility
To help us meet the needs of our community as best as possible, the following criteria are applied to all applications: Maximum per item: Please contact your Service Specialist for information on the cap in your province Equipment costing less than $200 is not eligible for funding You must be a registered client of Muscular Dystrophy Canada to submit an equipment application Muscular Dystrophy Canada cannot issue reimbursements. Be sure to complete the application process and receive approval from MDC prior to purchasing the item All funding requests must include: A completed application form Quotes from 2 different equipment vendors A signed equipment prescription from the appropriate licensed health care professional such as: an occupational therapist, physiotherapist, respiratory therapist, orthotist, physiatrist, registered nurse or podiatrist
