Service Description
Program for newcomer seniors to connect with their community through recreational activities and workshops, such as
- conversation circles to learn about Canadian culture and practice English
- information sessions focused on community supports and how to access them as well as equality rights and responsibilities, Indigenous history, frauds and scams, and financial literacy
- workshops focused on basic computer skills, digital literacy, arts and crafts, cooking healthy meals
- recreational activities such yoga, social club, outdoor picnics and gardening club
- interpretation supports for clients with limited English
Eligibility
Female and male permanent residents 50 years of age and older
