Service Description
Provides safe and affordable housing to families and seniors with low incomes and people with disabilities. The program subsidizes rent according to the degree of financial need.
NOTE: The Social Housing Program is administered by local housing authorities on behalf of Saskatchewan Housing Corporation.
Eligibility
For households with low incomes. Priority is given to seniors (55+), families with children or dependents, and individuals with disabilities who are in greatest housing need.
Requirements:
-Individuals and families must be legally allowed to be in Canada and have gross income and assets below the program limits.
-Individuals and families must be able to live independently. Independence may include support from family, the community, or other agencies.
-Priority will be given to eligible applicants with the greatest need. Tenants must provide a security deposit.
NOTE: Seniors who do not meet the eligibility criteria for the Social Housing Program may be eligible for other housing programs.
