Service Description
Provides safe and affordable housing to families and seniors with low incomes and people with disabilities. The program subsidizes rent according to the degree of financial need.
NOTE: The Social Housing Program is administered by local housing authorities on behalf of Saskatchewan Housing Corporation.
Eligibility
For households with low incomes. Priority is given to seniors (55+), families with children or dependents, and individuals with disabilities who are in greatest housing need. Requirements: -Individuals and families must be legally allowed to be in Canada and have gross income and assets below the program limits. -Individuals and families must be able to live independently. Independence may include support from family, the community, or other agencies. -Priority will be given to eligible applicants with the greatest need. Tenants must provide a security deposit. NOTE: Seniors who do not meet the eligibility criteria for the Social Housing Program may be eligible for other housing programs.
Application Process
To apply, complete the Housing Application and submit it to your local housing authority.
