Service Description
Offers a number of parenting classes, including:
- Active Parenting First Five Years – A program to help parents, guardians and/or caregivers learn how to make the most of their child’s first five years. Topics include:
- Ages and stages of development
- Building a bond with your child
- Preventing problems
- Using non-violent discipline
- Active Parenting Middle Years (Grade 5 to 12) – A class for parents of children ages 5 to 12 that will help them learn ways to raise responsible children who are able to resist negative peer pressure. Topics include:
- Building Courage and Self-Esteem
- Cooperation and Communication
- Responsibility and Discipline
- Active Parenting for School Success
- Active Parenting for Teens – A comprehensive parenting program for parents of pre-teens and teens. Participants will learn and develop skills that will give them the confidence and courage to meet the challenges and savor the joys of their children’s teen years. Parents will learn the basics of parenting a teen and have discussions on topics such as:
- Winning Cooperation
- Drugs
- Sexuality
- Violence
- Responsibility
- Discipline.
