Service Description

Provides free child development programming to families and caregivers with young children (zero – five years). Some of the specific information and resources provided by Early Years Family Resource Centres include:

  • Opportunities for children through play-based activity, family groups, art, music, movement or other preschool programming

  • Parent education through formal and informal learning opportunities, drop-in programs and seminars

  • Family wellness and support initiatives to assist in identifying and building skills that support child development and overall family health and wellness

  • Information and referrals to other children development-related community services.

The Midwest Family Connections Early Learning Program offers:

  • Free Play Indoor Playground

  • Family Play and Learn Programs – (i.e. Dadderday Nights, Parenting Tips & Playtime, Crafternoons). Sessions consist of free play in play stations, an optional craft activity and a 15-minute play-based activity lead by a facilitator.
  • Prenatal and Infancy – Infant Massage; new mothers self-care, information, and support; babies and parents/caregivers’ meetings; new parent consults.
  • Early Learning Programs Offered in a number of rural communities. Call 306-825-5911 for more information.

Families and caregivers of infants, toddlers, and preschoolers.

Application Process

Contact the Early Years Family Resource Centre as drop-in programming and activities that require pre-registration are offered.
