Child Care

A licensed child care home that provides care and supervision for up to eight children between the ages of one year and 12 years. Operated in the provider’s private residence. Child Care Subsidy accepted.

Philosophy

• Focuses on the holistic development of the child.
• Believes the environment is huge in development – provides an environment that supports holistic development through play.
• Communication between all the child’s caregivers is important for their development, so child care provider engages in daily open communication.

Programs / Activities

• Flexible daily schedule including: learning board & daily songs/movement, free play time, outdoor time (weather permitting), story time, quiet time, and adult-initiated activity.
• Children are given choices all throughout the day: ex – pick songs, stories, which activity they would like to do during quiet time, etc.
• There are a variety of toys and activities to support development in a variety of age groups and interests.
• Loose parts and invitations to play are available for open ended play during free play time. 

Nutrition

• Provides two snacks and lunch following Canada’s Food Guide – breakfast can be provided with arrangements.
• Teaches children about a healthy balanced diet to establish healthy eating habits young.
• Have children help prepare and serve food – however, during covid this isn’t happening. 
• Allows children choices around food – for example: what side vegetables or fruit they would like.
