Service Description

Offers programs that provide gender-sensitive support services to women who are vulnerable to the risks of isolation and lack of access and supports networks for socio-economic participation:

  • Women Connect Support Group: Saskatoon
    Weekly drop-in program that offers a safe and empowering space for newcomer women

  • In-home Support: Saskatoon
    Provides settlement support (including assistance with finding housing, applying for jobs, and connecting with community resources), language interpretation, help with filling out forms, and referral to other agencies as needed

  • Cooking Class: Saskatoon
  • Tech4Beginners: Regina and Saskatoon
    A five-week skill building for newcomer women who wish to improve their basic computer skills, learn how to use social media platforms and the internet to enhance their socialization, communication and professional development opportunities

  • PrepUp: Regina and Saskatoon
    Seven-week foundational course designed to introduce the participants to basic knowledge, work and self-management skills for entry into the Canadian workforce

  • Fit4Life: Saskatoon
    weekly drop-in health and recreational program designed to enhance women’s access to culturally sensitive resources to support their physical and mental wellbeing.

Eligibility

Participants must be women 18 years of age or older.
Any residency status: citizens, visitors, permanent residents, work permits.
