Service Description
Provides information on collective bargaining including assistance in collective bargaining, and conciliation and mediation services that the Government of Saskatchewan offers to employees, employers, and bargaining agents.
- Acquisition, Renewal and Termination of Bargaining Rights
- Information on the acquisition, removal or amendments to certification orders, granting bargaining rights to bargaining agents in respect of The Saskatchewan Employment Act.
- Assistance in Bargaining
- Information on the process of dispute resolution through the appointment and definition of the roles of labour relations officers, special mediators and conciliation boards.
- Collective Bargaining – First Agreements
- Information on bargaining a first collective agreement including information on when first agreement bargaining begins and the assistance available.
- Conciliation and Mediation Services
- Workplace conflict and mediation services are available to employees, employers, and unions from the Labour Relations and Mediation Division. Services include: Conciliation; Grievance Mediation; Best Practice Negotiation/Interest Based Negotiation Facilitation and Training; Workplace Assessment, Diagnostic and Interventions; Workplace Mediation; Charter Building, and Communication and Conflict Resolution Training.

- Information on what to do when altering, modifying, or amending a collective agreement including timelines for submission and contact information.
- Last Offer Vote
- Information on the processes for when and how an employer’s last offer to the union may be voted on by employees.
- Negotiating a Workplace Adjustment Plan to Address an Organizational Change or Technological Change
- Information on how to address an organizational or technological change in the workplace.
- Strikes and Lockouts
- Information on when a strike or lockout can occur and the procedures that must be followed.
