Service Description

A voluntary community justice program that works with youth and adult offenders who come in conflict with the law to divert them from attaining criminal records.

  • Provides a venue for victims for possible reconciliation, restitution, and restoration of peace and harmony. 
  • Developed and delivered by Saskatchewan Justice, Corrections and Public Safety and the Aboriginal Justice Directorate.


The type of case that is accepted:
- Must be first or second offence
- The offender must take responsibility for their actions
- Evidence exists to support criminal charges
- No failed AMP cases in the last six months.

The Crown Prosecutor’s Office in discussion with the RCMP considers cases on an individual basis.

Application Process

Crown Prosecutor or the Police refer cases to AMP, either before or after charges have been laid. Upon referral, the offender is to contact AMP as soon as possible. AMP contacts all parties involved in the case including the offender, victim(s) and their families.
