Service Description
Provides support to newcomer women (18+) who are experiencing or at risk of experiencing gender-based violence. Also offers assistance to newcomer women dealing with other general distresses. Supports include:
- Crisis Intervention and Counselling – delivers personalized counselling support in a safe and caring environment.

- One-on-one sessions.
- Informative and supportive workshops, offering access to customized resources tailored to their needs.
- Intimate Partner Violence (IPV) and Domestic Violence (DV) Support Services – assists women who are at risk of or are victims of gender-based violence.

- Personalized support tailored to each woman’s unique needs and circumstances.
- Referrals to appropriate organizations for additional resources and specialized assistance.
Eligibility
Newcomer women 18 years of age or older.
Any residency status: citizens, visitors, permanent residents, work permits.
Application Process
Intake times are ongoing. Register anytime at the IWS main office.
