Service Description
Provides financial assistance to get kids into a sport or physical activity.
Eligibility
To be eligible for funding for one or more children, families must first meet specific financial criteria as per Revenue Canada’s Low-Income Cut-Offs (LICO) chart. Other requirements include:
- Children must be 4 - 18 years old
- Funding is allocated to sustained programs that involve a sport or physical activity
- Programs should be a minimum of five weeks in duration and include at least one session per week; in the case of sports camps, the program must last at least five consecutive days for consideration.
Application Process
1. Review the Individual Child Grant Guidelines to ensure your family qualifies for assistance.
2. Complete the online registration form, then read and accept the terms and conditions before submitting.
Documents Required
Before you start your application, have the following ready:
- Your contact information (name, postal code, telephone number, and email address)
- The first name, last name, gender, and date of birth of your child
- The details of the sport or physical activity in which your child would like to participate
- The amount that you are requesting from Jumpstart
- The name of the non-profit/charity/service organization (payee) running the sport or physical activity program
- Proof of financial need (income assessment, prior year's T4 statement, or three consecutive pay stubs).
