Service Description
Provides an intensive, seven-week residential treatment program for up to ten individuals. Specializes in trauma and abuse. Individuals have the opportunity to:
- Develop coping skills
- Increase knowledge and wisdom to overcome their addictive behaviours and past traumas
- Learn about the First Nations culture and traditions.
Eligibility
- First Nations adults 18 years of age or older.
- Must be abstinent from alcohol and drugs for at least 5 days or attend detox services prior to admission
- Stable mental health (Psychiatric medications should have been taken for at least 6 months)
- No active TB
- Must NOT have any legal appointments or court appearances within the 6 week period of treatment
- Have a genuine desire to be there for 6 weeks and have the willingness to quit substance abuse.
