Service Description
Community Kitchens: teaches nutrition, hygiene, economical shopping and cooking techniques. Offered in small groups to individuals who can benefit from learning how to prepare appetizing, economical and nutritious meals and snacks. Participants take home the food that they prepare as well as recipes and if available, some non-perishable food items. Cirriculum can be adapted to the needs of the individual group.
Transportation and child care can be provided when necessary.
Junior Chef: a six-session program that runs September – June. Offered for children between the age of nine and 12 years. Participants are taught how to plan and cook a balanced, nutritous meal – main dish, side dish and a dessert each time. Classes are limited to five participants.
