  • Strongly believe that all children regardless of race, religion, mental, and physical ability are valued and important and have the right to be treated with respect and dignity – as well have right to develop in their life in a real healthy, safe, and secure environment.
  • Be a safe and nurturing environment where children feel secure and comfortable like home.
  • Provide a home-like setting where children can learn through play.
  • Provide an encouraging learning experience, promoting social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development.

Programs and Activities

  • Books and Literacy: Books allow children to enter a world of “make believe”, learn about new and exciting things, and gain an understanding of the function and purpose of the written language
  • Puzzles & Manipulatives: Small muscles in the hand are developed while handling and positioning puzzle pieces. The recognition of shape and pattern needed to complete puzzles are an important pre-reading and pre-writing skill.
  • Blocks and Floor Toys: Manipulation of blocks (stacking, balancing, arranging and lifting) helps children develop gross motor and fine motor skills needed to develop the pincer grip.
  • Sensory Play: Sensory activities allow children to play and explore materials with all their senses. Children develop in all learning domains as they explore, create, and play with these materials. Some materials you might find at the sensory tables include: sand, water, rice or cornstarch goop.
  • Outdoor Play: Outdoor play develops gross motor skills such as climbing, running, jumping, and throwing. Children cannot develop the fine motor skills required for writing before the large muscles of the arms are developed.
  • Play and Exploration: Promote Play and Exploration and provide a balance between active play and quiet play and structured and unstructured activities.

  • Believe in encouraging children to make healthy lifestyle choices from as early an age as possible.
  • Follow the recommendations as outlined by Eating Well with Canada’s Food Guide, as well as the Saskatchewan Nutrition Guidelines for Children and Youth.
  • Provide meals and snacks to all children in sufficient quantities and time intervals to meet the individual needs of the child.
  • Offers milk at least twice per day.
  • If juice is offered, it is %100 unsweetened juice and is offered no more than three times per week.
  • Offers water for thirst.
