Child Care

A licensed child care home that provides care and supervision for up to eight children between the ages of six months and 13 years. Operated in the provider’s private residence. Child care provider is fluent in Tamil language. Child Care Subsidy accepted.

Philosophy

• Focuses on the healthy development of the whole child such as social, emotional, physical, intellectual, and spiritual development.
• Fosters independence and decision making skills as the children are viewed as competent and capable members of society.
• Uses a variety of approaches within a play based environment including project-based learning, open ended materials, experiential learning.

Programs and Activities 

• Changes the environment based on the children’s interest.
• Children will engage in a variety of activities based on the children’s interests that include science, sensory, art experiences, outdoor play, fine motor activities, gross motor activities etc.   
• Children will be given at least one opportunity to play outside each day

Nutrition

• Childrens are not forced to eat as per the Child Care Regulations, rather they are encouraged to try.
• Eating is an enjoyable experience – child care provider sits and encourages conversation among the children, which is a wonderful opportunity to promote language development. 
• Believes children need proper nutrients to stay healthy and strong.
• Children who require an alternate menu for health reasons may bring their meals.
