Child Care

A licensed child care home that provides care and supervision for up to six children between the ages of six weeks and 12 years. Operated in the provider’s private residence. Child care provider is fluent in English and Bengali languages. Child Care Subsidy accepted.

Philosophy:

• Believe that each child is a unique individual. Sensitive to a child’s social, emotional, intellectual and physical needs.
• Focus on the process of learning and help children enjoy successful experiences. Encourage the love of learning.
• Create a caring and nurturing atmosphere and foster each child’s creativity, enhancing problem solving skills, indpendence, personal responsibility and positive self-image.
• Believe parents are the most significant adults in a child’s life. Create mutual respect and encourage daily communication between parents and teachers: a partnership for the benefit of the child.

Programs/Activities:

• Access to the backyard and parks within the neighbourhood.
• Children who attend Coronation Park School will walk. If children attend another school, the parents are responsible to figure our transportation.

Nutrition:

• Encourage children to make healthy lifestyle choies from as early an age as possible.
• Follow the recommendations in Eating Well with Canada’s Food Guide, and the Saskatchewan Nutrition Guidelines for Children and Youth.
• Bi-weekly rotating schedule is posted for review.
• Accommodate basic allergies. No financial compensation in lieu of meals not provided.
• Children are encouraged to taste all foods, but are never forced to consume unwanted foods. Food is never withheld as a means of discipline.
