Service Description

An early childhood development program focused on caring, creativity, and pride that flows from the knowledge of traditional community beliefs within a holistic and safe environment. Primary goal is to demonstrate that locally controlled and designed early-intervention strategies provide First Nations preschool children with a positive sense of self, a desire for learning, and opportunities to develop fully and successfully. Includes six components:

  • culture and language, 
  • education,
  • health promotions, 
  • nutrition,
  • social support,
  • parent and family engagement.  

Eligibility

Members of the Black Lake Denesuline First Nation, Cumberland House Cree Nation, Fond Du Lac Denesuline First Nation, Hatchet Lake Denesuline First Nation, James Smith Cree Nation, Lac La Ronge Indian Band, Montreal Lake Cree Nation, Peter Ballantyne Cree Nation, Red Earth Cree Nation, Shoal Lake Cree Nation, Sturgeon Lake First Nation, Wahpeton Dakota Nation.
