Service Description

Empowers families to invest in homeownership. Homes are sold to qualified homeowners at fair market value and carry an interest free, zero down payment mortgage set at 25% of their gross annual household income.

Applications are currently being accepted for Yorkton residents only.

Eligibility

Minimum requirements:
- Must be Canadian citizens, landed immigrants or permanent residents, and have lived in the Saskatchewan region for one year or more.
- At least one applicant must be employed full-time and have maintained a stable source of income for at least one year.
- At least one of the applicants must have at least two years of employment history in Canada.
- You and your family must be able to manage debt in a responsible way and have not declared bankruptcy in the last three years.
- Applicants must have at least one child under the age of 16 years old.

Application Process

Visit the website for all information to take the Eligibility Quiz to be added to the waitlist.
Note: The only time applications are provided is in a family selection period when homes are available for sale or when are currently being built.

Fees

Families are required to purchase the home from Habitat at fair-market value. Currently, the program offers a zero-down payment, interest-free mortgage with payments set at 25% of the family’s gross annual household income.
