Child Care

A licensed child care home that provides care and supervision for up to 12 children between the ages of one year and 10 years. Operated in the provider’s private residence. Child care provider is fluent in Hindi and Punjabi. Child Care Subsidy accepted.

Philosophy

• Believes patience and right guidance according to kids ability to learn is most important in educating and nurturing children. 
• Believes no two kids of the same age grow similar – it is important to teach them all according to their age but might not be the same method.
• Believes children all have their own nature and ability to learn and understand things. 
• According to the child care provider respect, social skills, personal hygiene, and kindness are the most important things for children to learn. 
• Child care provider keeps in touch with each parent personally – does not have a report card or any such thing but does communicate on how the child is doing. 
• Parents are allowed to talk to the child care provider whenever they want – child care provider is pretty quick in responding through text message or phone calls.

Programs and Activities

• All activities depend on the age group. 
• Do activities like colouring, painting, craft, drawing, writing, reading, educational/rhymes through tv, group play, outdoor play, and more depending on the weather and kids understanding and attendance. 
• Provides outside time for at least 15 minutes depending on the weather.

Nutrition

• Children must be here on time for meals, otherwise it is the parent’s responsibility to ensure that the child has eaten. 
• The daycare follows the Canada Food Guide and provides well balanced meals. 
• Good manners and quiet conversations are encouraged. 
• To prevent choking, children must remain seated while eating. 
• Children are encouraged to be independent and practice such skills as pouring their own drinks, serving themselves and others, and making choices. 
• Children are offered small portions to start with and may have further helpings as desired. 
• Children are not forced to eat food – they are encouraged to try new foods. 
• It is the parent’s responsibility to provide any foods required by children on special diets if the child care provider is not able to accommodate them.
