Child Care

A licensed child care home that provides care and supervision for up to 11 children between the ages of six months and eight years. Operated in the provider’s private residence. Child care provider is fluent in English and Tagalog languages.

Philosophy

• Believes that educating and nurturing children will help them grow, learn, play, and communicate while developing their physical, emotional, and social well-being
• Children will learn primarily play and exploration – this will develop confidence and independence as well as improve social skills and problem-solving abilities 
• To provide a homelike, safe, and nurturing environment where children can learn and feel loved
• To assist children in having a good relationship with each other and to participate in daily activities and fun with their choices to help build their creativity, imagination, and self confidence

Programs and Activities

• Sensory play: nursery rhymes, exploring smell, sight, sound, touch
• Creative play: creative expression, painting, singing, dancing, writing, or drawing
• Imaginative play: role play, dramatic play
• Free play: children have a choice of blocks, kitchen toys, dolls and accessories, Legos, play set, art materials/crafts
• Outdoor play: swinging, riding toys, running, ball playing, strolling dolls (weather permitting)

Nutrition

• Serves healthy lunch and two snacks based on the Canada Food Guide
• Makes and offers a lot of homemade food and a variety of fruits and vegetables
• A tree nut free home – **tree nut products are not permitted in the home**
• Promote “family style” during mealtime to encourage independence and self-control
• Infant formula and baby food will be provided by parents
