Child Care

A licensed child care home that provides care and supervision for up to 12 children between the ages of six months and 12 years. Operated in the provider’s private residence. Child Care Subsidy accepted.

Philosophy:

• Provides a safe place to show respect, kindness, patience, trust, be a good role model and have fun with daily activities.
• Believes that all children are special, need guidance and nurturing. Children need to feel safe and have a trusting relationship with adult caregivers.
• Age-appropriate activities will nurture and help stimulate the child to enhance cognitive growth and development.
• Focus on the wholistic, emotional, physical, social, child-friendly and culturally-appropriate sensitive values.

Programs/Activities:

• Morning routine: hand hygiene, free play, breakfast, hand hygiene, scheduled activity, exercise, outdoor play, snack, hand hygiene, clean up, nap or quiet time. Weekly activities are planned on a monthly calendar.
• Afternoon routine: Storytime or other daily/weekly theme, planned activity, hand hygiene, snack, clean up, hand hygiene. Follow othe age-related educational learning activities and calendar of health promotion age-appropriate. Outdoor play, parent pick-up.
• Scheduled activities are posted for parents to view and ask questions or address concerns. Communication with parents on an ongoing basis.

Nutrition:

• Nutritious breakfast, snack, lunch and snack. Meals meet the Canada Food Guide recommendations.
• Meals consist of cereals, fruits and vegetables, whole grains, proteins and milk products.
• Special diets are reviewed with prents, served as planned and communicated with parents. Parents may be required to bring specialty foods.
• Weekly menu plan is posted for parents to view and ask questions or address concerns.
