Child Care

A licensed child care home that provides care and supervision for up to 12 children between the ages of six months and 12 years. Operated in the provider’s private residence.

Philosophy

• Believe in holistic development and growth of children, and have a firm belief that they learn through active play.
• Appreciates that children have a variety of learning styles, methods of understanding and constructing knowledge.
• Program is specifically designed to provide:
  • A positive, warm, welcoming and loving environment for the children and to nurture a concept of positivity in them.
  • To enhance social development in children by teaching them good manners and encouraging them to develop positive and loving relationships.
  • To enhance emotional development in children by helping them to express their feelings and emotions without any worry and in a constructive way.
  • To enhance physical development in children by providing them various opportunities to exercise gross motor and fine motor skills, and by providing them healthy nutrition to fuel their bodies.
  • To enhance creative development in children by helping them create artwork.

Programs and Activities

• Free Play – Independent or group play with toys, books, and crafts.
• Circle Time – Songs and books.
• Structured Activity – Age-appropriate activities like arts and crafts, science experiments, etc.
• Outdoor Time – Weather-dependent outdoor play.
• Nap Time – Quiet rest for children, with activities for early risers.

Nutrition

• Nutritious Balanced Meals – Follow the Canadian Food Guide for healthy meals to promote long-term health.
• Three-Week Menu Rotation – Posted at the entrance and shared with parents.
• Special Dietary Needs – Parents provide food for specific needs. (lactose intolerance, allergies)
• Juice is not served.
• Meals Provided – Breakfast, lunch, afternoon snack.
• Encouragement, Not Pressure – Children are encouraged to eat what is served, but not forced to eat if not hungry.
