Child Care

A licensed child care home that provides care and supervision for up to 11 children between the ages of ten months and 12 years. Operated in the provider’s private residence. Child Care Subsidy accepted.

Philosophy

• Offers the opportunity for each child to develop physically, emotionally, socially, and cognitively according to their individual learning styles. 
• Provide rich opportunity for play, and cultivate each child’s talents and potentials. 
• Recognize the importance of play in child’s development and in the learning process of young children. 
• Play is one of the basis of their learning programs and they offer a program that supports a Play and Exploration Approach. 
• Strive to promote a strong partnership with families and create a sense of community. 
• Completely transparent in their programs and curriculum. 
• Continue to self-assess to look for improvement and make communication with the parent a paramount part of the childcare environment.

Programs and Activities

• Designed to give the children a variety of age-appropriate activities. 
• Program consists of free play activity where children may choose their own activity. 
• This may include activities such as puzzles, building blocks, playing cars and animals, sensory bucket, and dramatic play. 
• Also have a circle time in the morning and structured group activities in the morning and afternoon. 
• These include activities such as painting, colouring, cutting, play dough, craft and arts, games, singing, and stories. 
• Daily programs will be posted on the information board. 

Nutrition

• Provides the children with two snacks and lunch. 
• A nutritionally balanced menu is offered. 
• A menu will be posted at the information board and they will provide a copy of the menu every month. 
• In case of special diets (allergies), parents are required to bring foods for that day to accommodate for a meal their child is not able to eat. 
• Babies will be fed the same food but will be fed age appropriate cuttings and the like. 
• If parents want their children to be fed special baby foods, parents can bring this food to the child care provider.
