Child Care

A Christian based licensed child care home that provides care and supervision for up to ten children between the ages of six weeks and 12 years. Operated in the provider’s private residence. Child care provider is fluent in Chinese and English languages.

Philosophy

• Believe that children are naturally curious and capable of flourishing in all aspects of development when they experience the power of unconditional love and a safe space to discover, learn, and grow through play.
• Believe in learning and growing through playful exploration and modeling.
• Believe that developing essential life skills like active listening, following instructions, and finding comfort in established routines is equally vital.
• Believe in Christian values.
• Believe most important education takes place at home – collaboration between parents and service provider is necessary to achieve the best experience.

Programs and Activities

• Program operates in a multicultural environment, under the belief that all children learn from each other as well as from their daily experiences.
• Program contains structured and free play, indoor and outdoor play, planned and child-guided activities.
• Staff will provide children with an environment that includes:
  • a rest period for children who attend our half day or full day program.
    • Children will be age appropriately provided with individual cots, mats, or cribs.
    • Children relax in a quiet, secure environment for varying time periods (minimum of 30 minutes) dependent upon their needs.
    • Children who do not sleep are provided with quiet table top activities
    • Children are never forced to sleep.
• Television/movie viewing is rare but is available to be used ONLY to extend learning opportunities for children.
  • This time will be limited to 20 minutes.
  • Parents/guardians will be notified if a movie of the children’s interest is planned for a special occasion or celebration.

Nutrition

• Follow a meal plan that includes German and Chinese meals.
• All meals are in compliance with nutrition regulations laid out for home based daycares by the Saskatchewan Government.
