Service Description

Provides recreational, cultural and educational programs and events for children, youth, adults and Elders. All programs are free and open to anyone who is interested. Elder is on-site. Offers: 

  • Jigging workshops
  • Advanced jigging work shop 
  • Elders stories 
  • Cultural workshop
  • Beading classes
  • Regalia classes
  • Geneology classes
  • Fiddle lessons
  • Guitar lessons and more.

Events include the annual Children’s Christmas party, Children’s Halloween party, Pow wow song and dance, Elders dinners (Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas), Folkfest pavilion, National Aboriginal Day, Mother’s Day tea, children summer program, annual jigging competition, annual roundance, and SIMFC Aboriginal Graduation Gala.
