Service Description
Helps individuals with FASD to navigate the Saskatchewan justice system through advocacy, courtroom support, assistance understanding and complying with conditions, probation and parole planning, release planning, sentencing support, peer mentoring, and access to community support.
In addition, staff are available to help Indigenous clients prepare “Gladue Reports.” (There are special cultural considerations that the court must take into account for Indigenous peoples. This information is presented in a pre-sentencing or bail hearing report known as a “Gladue Report.” Every self-identifying Indigenous individual has a legal right to have this information presented in court. The purpose is for an individual’s unique personal background to be considered along with possible alternatives to jail to allow for healing.)
