Child Care

A licensed child care facility that provides care and supervision for up to 46 children between the ages of 18 months and 12 years. Child Care Subsidy accepted. 

Able to accommodate children with delays and differing needs. Please contact for further information. 

Parents have the opportunity to volunteer if interested. 

Philosophy

• Believe that in treating children equally we do so by meeting their individual needs, not necessarily by treating them all the same.
• Strive to remain innovative and ethical in advocating for the holistic caring of families; the development of high quality child care programs; and by creating a loving and empowering environment for all peoples touched by our childcare centre.
• Aim is to provide learning activities based on developmental principals that emphasize an integrated approach to learning.
• Believe that quality childcare is best achieved when parents are involved in establishing and maintaining the goals and objectives. 
• Have a parent majority Board of Directors which parents are encouraged to join.  ​

Programs and Activities 

• Play-based program.
• Daily schedule allows for children to make choices about activities and fosters independence. 
• Adaptations are made to meet the needs of individual children. 
• Daily schedule allows the interests of children to determine the learning content. 
• A balance of free play and structured play. 
• Offers daily outdoor play when weather permits.
• Will sometimes go on excursions away from the centre.  
• Accept and welcome any cultural activities or ideas.  

Nutrition

• It is important for children to get the recommended daily requirements per the Canada Food Guide.
• Provide a morning snack, lunch, and an afternoon snack.
• Are able to provide an alternative meal for the children if there is an allergy or a special dietary need.
