Service Description

Provides an alternative to the traditional court process for youth charged with offences set out as part of the Youth Criminal Justice Act. Offers youth the opportunity to make amends to victims and the community. A mediated discussion takes place with the intent of repairing harm and deterring the youth from further criminal activity.

Goal is to address underlying issues and focus on education and information. Supports healing, reintegration and the prevention of future harm.

Eligibility

Minor pre-charge or post-charge criminal offences.

Application Process

Upon first appearance in court or when referred to the program by the crown prosecutor.

Documents Required

Any documents provided by the police or Crown Prosecutor’s office.
