Service Description

Provides essential and employability skills training in preparation for employment, framed by learning experiences:

  • Certifications as required by individualized learning and employment plans (WHMIS, First Aid/CPR, Food Safe)
  • Employability skills development (accountability, adaptability, attitude, confidence, motivation, presentation, problem-solving, stress management, teamwork and time management)
  • Increased familiarity with the local labour market, employment services and further training
  • Opportunities to demonstrate essential skills in various environments (ie. volunteer/work experiences)
  • Resume, portfolio, and interview experience
  • Transition support to employment or further training

Duration of programming is determined by individual goals and the learning plan. May range from 4 – 32 weeks.

Application Process

1) Complete the online Literacy and Adult Education application.
2) Complete the Education and Employment History form.
3) Complete the Authorization for Guidance Counsellor to Access Student Information form.

Applicants who are Saskatchewan graduates, high school students from other provinces or foreign educated, must submit high school and post-secondary transcripts using their local Literacy and Adult Education email address.
