Service Description

A licensed child care facility that provides care and supervision for up to 90 children, 18 months – school-age. Child Care Subsidy accepted. 

Parents/Guardians required to participate in two hours of co-op time per month and two fundraisers per year.

Philosophy

  • Believe the following is most important in educating and nurturing children: 
    • Creating opportunities for learning in an emotionally supportive and responsive environment.
    • Providing children with nutrition, physical activity and good health.
    • Developing relationships between educator/centre and family.
    • Providing a safe and secure environment where trust can be developed.
  • Believe it is most important for children to learn a holistic approach to all areas of development through:
    • Cognitive development.
    • Social/emotional development.
    • Speech/language development.
    • Fine/gross motor skill development
  • Centre supports and works in partnership with parents by:
    • Listening.
    • Offering parenting suggestions.
    • Making referrals to community resources.
    • Connecting families to other families.

Programs and Activities

  • Centre has a play-based program where children learn and develop through their play.
  • Centre provides several open ended activities with the freedom to choose. 
  • Centre supports peer interaction and learning.
  • Centre fosters imagination through play.
  • Centre is knowledgeable with diverse needs and how to accommodate within child care. 
  • Centre is experienced in individual programming of children. (PPP)
  • Centre attends meetings with families and their supporting professional. (third party on/off site) 
  • Centre has the ability to use adapted equipment and spacious rooms.   
  • Centre uses observation skills to document children’s interests – programming is developed around the child and their interests.
  • Day is structured with indoor/outdoor play which includes structured and unstructured activities.
  • Day is structured with child led/teacher led activities.
  • Centre includes books, games, music, cooking and community visitors of diversity in other cultures and their differences

Nutrition

  • Believe nutrition is important to child development, that children need specific nutrients to thrive and grow, and teaches lifelong healthy eating habits.
  • Provides two daily snacks and a lunch.
  • Families are required to provide their own special diet when required. 
  • Centre supports vegetarian options.
  • Centre accommodates allergies.

Fees

Full-time: Toddlers $349 per month, Preschool $217.76 per month, Kindergarten (school year) $262.75 per month, School-age $609 per month, School-age (summer) $645.75 per month.
