Service Description

A licensed child care facility that provides care and supervision for up to 28 children between the ages of six weeks and 12 years. Child Care Subsidy accepted. 

Parent fundraising through selling tickets to an event required.

Programs and Activities

  • Have a play-based program. 
  • Daily schedule/program allows children to make choices about activities and fosters independence. 
  • Adaptations are made to meet the needs of individual children. 
  • Daily schedule/program allows the interests of children to determine the learning content. 
  • Day is structured with indoor/outdoor play, structured/free choice activities, child led/teacher led activities, along with time for science, their own time for expression and creativity, story time at the local library once a week, and visits to the senior residents at the health centre for activities.

Nutrition

  • Recognizes proper nutrition as being essential to the health and well-being of the children.
  • Meals and snacks of high quality and nutritional value will be provided at appropriate intervals. (Section 23 of the Child Care Regulations Act, 2001 will be referred to for specifics)
  • Meal/snack time are an ideal time for learning and bonding with the children – adults are encouraged to sit with children and engage in conversation about the concepts of color, quantity, temperature, and taste of the food. They can also help children practice proper eating habits/manners while also discussing the events of the day.
  • Menus will be prepared in advance and posted in a convenient location for parents review.
  • Parents need to inform Director of any specific dietary requirements and/or food allergies as well as update the Director if a child’s diet changes. 
  • Parents of children with special dietary needs are required to supply foods themselves – .  parents should check menus to make sure their child can eat the provided food. 
  • Should the parent not supply an alternative meal, the staff will give the child only the parts of the meal, which are acceptable.

Fees

Infant (6 weeks - 18 months) Full-Time: $780 per month, $4.75 per hour Part-Time: $5 per hour Drop-in: $5.50 per hour.
Toddler (18 months - 30 months) Full-Time: $690 per month, $4.25 per hour Part-Time: $4.50 per hour Drop-in: $5 per hour.
Preschool Full-Time: $645 per month, $4 per hour Part-Time: $4.25 per hour Drop-in: $4.75 per hour.
Kindergarten Full-Time: $4 per hour Part-Time: $4.25 per hour Drop-in: $4.75 per hour.
School-Age (Full Day) Full-Time: $605 per month, $3.75 per hour Part-Time: $4 per hour Drop-in: $4.50 per hour.
School-Age (Before and After School) Full-Time: $12.50 flat rate Part-Time: $12.50 flat rate Drop-in: $15.50 flat rate.
Before School or After School: $4.50 per hour Drop-in = less than 24 hours Part-Time = 24 hours - 136 hours Full-Time = 137 or more hours Full-Time monthly recommended for above 163 hours per month.
