Service Description

Provides remote health care using any form of communication or information technologies, including:

  • Virtual Visit
    • Video conferencing platform that connects patients and their families with health care providers.
    • Note: the Virtual Visit Program is provider-driven — ask your health care provider if they are using the program; if they are, you can request to be invited to their clinic. From there, you will receive an email invitation to join your health care provider’s clinic with further instructions.
    • Use on a computer, laptop, smartphone, or tablet. Requires: an internet connection or cellular data; a web-camera; a microphone; and speakers.
    • Visit the Saskatchewan Health Authority website or Government of Saskatchewan website for further information.
    • Technical help available by phone (1-844-767-8259 option 4), email (virtualvisit@ehealthsask.ca), and online.
  • Remote Patient Monitoring
    • A virtual platform that enables patients to monitor health factors​ from their homes and share this information electronically with their provider.
    • Note: Remote Patient Monitoring is provider-driven — speak with your health care provider to see if this option may work for you.
    • Clinical areas using RPM: lung transplant; community paramedicine, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD); Pediatric Nephrology; and Prostate Oncology.

  • Telehealth
    • Connects patients and their families to health care providers across the province via video at local health care facilities.
    • If your healthcare provider feels it is appropriate, they will book you a telehealth appointment. You will be given a date, time and location of your appointment either by phone or letter, depending on the clinical process your provider has in place. You will need to confirm your appointment with the provider office giving consent to see your provider this way.
    • Note: not all clinical consults are appropriate for Telehealth use, it is up to the provider to determine if the technology will meet their needs.
    • The day of the clinic, you will go to the Telehealth facility and check in at the front desk. Staff in the facility will escort you to the Telehealth room and explain how your appointment will take place.
