Service Description

Provides free child development programming to families and caregivers with young children (zero – five years). Some of the specific information and resources provided by Early Years Family Resource Centres include:

  • Opportunities for children through play-based activity, family groups, art, music, movement or other preschool programming
  • Parent education through formal and informal learning opportunities, drop-in programs and seminars
  • Family wellness and support initiatives to assist in identifying and building skills that support child development and overall family health and wellness
  • Information and referrals to other children development-related community services.

Some of the programs offered by the Regina Early Years Family Resource Centre include:

  • Ages and Stages: helps to highlight children’s strengths and provides supporting activities to build on developing skills.
  • Young Chefs: facilitators have recipes and ingredients for you and your child to make a healthy snack providing quality bonding time.
  • Connect and Play: play outdoors with a focus on learning through play and physical development.
  • Music and Movement: indoor movement class focused on learning through play and supporting healthy child development through physical movement.
  • Baby Adventures: developmentally appropriate activities for you and your little one with a focus on music/movement, literacy/books, and art/sensory experiences.
  • Baby Blanket Time: Learn songs and rhymes to sing to your baby as well as talk about how to strengthen your bond with your baby.
  • Little Movers: Facilitators have movement activities set up for you and your child to explore.
  • Preschool Picasso: Encourages free-form creativity, enhances motor skills, and promotes an appreciation for exploration of different sensory and art materials.

Eligibility

Baby Adventures: Parents and caregivers with babies up to 18 months old. Registration not required.
Music and Movement: Parents and caregivers with children ages five years and younger. Preregistration required.
Connect and Play: Parents and caregivers with children ages five years and younger. Preregistration required.

Young Chefs, Baby Adventures, Baby Blanket Time, Little Movers, Preschool Picasso: No registration required.
