Service Description
A day program that helps youth who have lost their ability to attend a mainstream school for varying factors, often beyond their control. Provides community-based programming through education, life skills, cultural awareness and employment readiness.
Program is supported by the Ministry of Justice.
Eligibility
Youth between 12 to 18 years old who are involved with or at risk of becoming involved with the justice system. The program can accommodate 15 youth at any given time throughout the school year.
Application Process
Contact for details. Referrals are made to the program through the Ministry of Corrections and Public Safety and Policing, community resources and self-referrals.
The program supervisor has a motivational interview with all youth before entering the day program to ensure the youth are wanting the program, understand the five golden rules and can plan accordingly for their success.
