Service Description
Offers mentoring services to older youth and adults who have a cognitive disability such as Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) or acquired brain injury. May include assistance with housing, accessing income security and health care, budgeting, and shopping, dealing with justice issues and other aspects of daily living.
A mental health coordinator is also available to attend to the mental health needs of CUMFI clients and staff (CUMFI Wellness Centre, Supported Living Homes and CUMFI Outreach). This may include crisis and ongoing counselling, assistance to connect with other community and professional resources, and a plan to find appropriate ways to build on strengths and find possible therapies to address mental health needs.
Eligibility
Older youth and adults with a diagnosis of a cognitive disability or characteristics consistent with a cognitive disability.
