Community Connections

Assists participants (adults 22 years and older with intellectual and/or physical disabilities) to be actively involved in their community through volunteerism, recreation and employment opportunities. 

• In-Center Job Contracts – Contracts are brought into the Center from businesses within the community for participants to complete (i.e. folding mail-out materials, labelling, stuffing envelopes and more).
• Volunteer Programs – Includes quality opportunities to enhance participation in areas of interest to individuals based on person-centered planning. Participants receive vocational training where a variety of skills are taught, practiced and implemented in practical settings.
• Recreation and Leisure – Participants are given the opportunity to take part in a variety of recreational activities in-center and in the community (i.e. tours of different facilities, events within the community).
