Service Description

A licensed child care facility that provides care and supervision of up to 50 children between the ages of six weeks and six years. Child Care Subsidy accepted. 

NOTE: You must contact the childcare to be added to the waitlist. Do NOT use the Parent Central waitlist.

Philosophy

  • Provides a nurturing environment in which children learn and grow at their own pace.  
  • Children are offered a stimulating environment which promotes play, independence, and exploration.  
  • Embraces and promotes diversity and inclusion with all children.  
  • Centre partners with community organizations to bring integrated services to offer support to families in the community.  
  • Centre has an open door policy which welcomes parents to come and go from Community Connections at anytime.

Programs and Activities

  • Programming is a combination of child led and teacher led with learning activities and opportunities to work in large and small groups.  
  • Environment will be constantly changing to spark a child’s curiosity and imagination.  
  • Emergent curriculum will be based through observation, documentation, and reflection.  
  • Children may be engaged in sensory, music, movement, science, art, fine motor, gross motor, and outdoor activities throughout the day.  
  • Centre asks that your child come prepared to go outside for all weather conditions.

Nutrition

  • Provides two snacks and a hot lunch each day for all children.  
  • All snacks and lunches provided by the facility will be nutritious and meet the requirements of the Canada Food Guide.  
  • Weekly Menus will be posted on the parent communication board.  
  • Parents need to provide the Executive Director a listing of all food allergies their child might have.  
  • If a special diet is required, it will be the parent’s responsibility to provide lunches and snacks. 
  • Staff are encouraged to use child mealtimes as a teaching opportunity – staff will utilize mealtimes to model healthy eating habits and manners, to sit with the children and encourage interaction and conversation about the concepts of colour, quantity, and temperature of the food, eating behaviours, and events of the day.

Fees

Full-time spaces only.
Infants $200 per month, Toddlers $200 per month, Preschool $200 per month, 6 year olds $500 per month. Drop-in: $35 per day.
Call for availability. Child Care Subsidy accepted.
