Service Description
A variety of subsidy programs are available for eligible low-income individuals, including:
Subsidized Spay and Neuter Program – Initiative of the City of Saskatoon, the Saskatoon Academy of Veterinary Practitioners and the Western College of Veterinary Medicine. Provides low-income pet owners access to significantly discounted veterinary services and financial resources. Learn more about the Subsidized Spay and Neuter Program.
Seniors Property Tax Deferral Program – Low-Income Senior Citizen Homeowners may be eligible. The tax deferral program offers options to defer payment of all or a portion of annual municipal and library taxes. Learn more about the Seniors Property Tax Deferral Program.
Waste Utility Subsidy – Provides a rebate to eligible low-income households on the cost of utilities. Eligible low-income households may apply for the subsidy once a year until 2026. A one-time $100 credit will be issued to the utility account of approved applicants for the year of application. Households will need to re-apply every year to receive the subsidy.
