Child Care

A licensed facility that provides care and supervision for up to 65 children between the ages of 18 months and 12 years. Child Care Subsidy accepted.

May be able to accommodate children with delays and differing needs. Please contact for further information.

Parents may be asked to volunteer their time for excursions outside of the facility.

Philosophy

• Foster the development of independence, self-confidence, and self-discipline.
• Encourage children to trust others to meet their needs, challenge themselves to take risks, enjoy and take pride in their accomplishments and successes as well as accept limits, failure, and disappointment as opportunities for growth.
• Play is the child’s work.
• Encourage respect for each other, life and property, tolerance for differences, and discouragement of stereotypes.

Programs and Activities

• Reflects the belief that children develop independence, confidence, and competence when there is ample of opportunity for choice.
• Children have frequent opportunities to choose their playroom, playmates, whether to participate in individual or group play, and often, the staff member they wish to be with.
• Children often initiate their own play activities.
• Staff encourages children to explore the wide range of options available through a variety of interest centers as well as those activities offered in more structured teacher-initiated activities.
• Strive to provide an age-appropriate and stimulating play environment for our children through multi-age groupings.

Nutrition

• Proper nutrition is crucial for child’s physical and mental development.
• Provides a morning and afternoon snack as well as a substantial lunch for the children. (5 week rotation of menu)
• Parents are asked to provide food for children special dietary requirements. (No fee reduction in this case)
• Use whole wheat flour, flax seed, chia seeds, reduced amounts of sugar, one vegetarian lunch each week.
