Child Care – King George

A licensed child care facility that provides care and supervision for up to 33 children between the ages of 18 months and 12 years. Child Care Subsidy accepted.

Philosophy

• Believe that when children are in a warm, welcoming, safe, and inclusive environment the ability for holistic development is at its greatest.
• Believe children need enriched, real life experiences and have opportunities to engage in some risky play.
• Believe that with play based experiences, children have the ability to expand on their own independence.
• Believe that the acceptance of each child’s uniqueness gives a sense of belonging needed to develop greater mental health.

Programs and Activities

• Centre is play-based.
• Centre allows times throughout the day for large group activities to encourage working together and turn taking, small group activities for less structure and individual time for specific personal interests.
• Centre has a daily schedule that is flexible and adaptable to the changing needs of children.
• Outdoor time is daily unless not recommended by Environment Canada.
• Each family is welcome to take part in their developmental screening tool, Ages and Stages Questionnaires.

Nutrition

• Two meals and two snacks offered daily.
• Follow the old Canadian Food Guide with milk offered twice a day and water whenever needed.
• When considering types of foods, they always think of the nutritional value first.

All meals and snacks are done to promote a family orientated dining experience to encourage conversations and table manners.
