Child Care

A licensed child care home that provides care and supervision for up to 10 children between the ages of six weeks and 13 years. Child care provider is fluent in English and Arabic languages.

Philosophy

• Time when a child must discover that learning is worthwhile, exciting, rewarding and fun
• Journey of discovery needs to take place in a warm and secure environment which supports children in their academic, social, emotional and physical growth

• Objective is to identify the needs of the children and plan for the successful fulfillment of those needs
• Ongoing commitment to small group size enables children to make choices, to solve problems and to learn to think independently
• Focus is carefully designed with the understanding that each child is unique
• Provide individual children with engaging learning experiences aimed at building and enhancing their skills in all development areas.

Programs and Activities

• Breakfast snack, centre time, snack, free play, lunch, nap time, centre time, snack
• Centre time: crafts, dance, drawing, colouring, food play, learning and reading in English or Arabic language if preferable from parents
• Outside time (daily): playing with the snow in winter, playing with water in summer, sand, balls, sports, slide, swings and many other activities
• Nap time: quiet environment, read a story for the children to get ready for a nap, one-to-two hours long, not mandatory for parents who don’t prefer their children to have a nap.

Nutrition

• Weekly schedule of meals will be posted
• Meals and snacks provided will meet the nutritional needs of the children, and served every three hours
• Manner in which children are fed will be appropriate to their age and levels of development
• Do not provide infant formula or baby food, or meals and snacks for children who require a special diet or parents request a special diet.
