Service Description
A licensed child care facility that provides care and supervision for up to 40 children between the ages of 18 months and five years. Child Care Subsidy accepted.
Parents/guardians must participate in 3 fundraisers per year and contribute 1 hour of volunteering per month.

Philosophy
- Whitmore Park Child Care Co-operative (WPCCC) is seen as a complement and an extension to the family unit and the home environment, fostering growth, while providing a nurturing and supportive environment.
- Communication, cooperation, mutual respect and support are essential to the wellbeing of the child, family, employees and all those involved in Centre life.
- Children learn through play, and through interacting with their world.
- Centre strives to provide a rich balance of new experiences and learning opportunities, combined with the nurturing and guidance needed to explore this remarkable world.
Programs and Activities
- Whitmore Park Child Care Co-operative was designed and built for children.
- Life in the Centre is constantly in movement; a shifting balance of dramatic play, stories and fingerplays, cooking opportunities, walks to the park, warm cuddles, snacks, fine and large muscle play, art and music.
- Centre design promotes exploration and enjoyment, while teachers provide nurturing and guidance and an understanding of children’s individual needs and development.
- Clear boundaries and an atmosphere of warmth, love and acceptance promote a safe and responsive environment for exploration and the development of a positive self-image.
- Through environmental design, programming opportunities and supportive interactions, the centre strives to:
- Encourage social and emotional development.
- Develop responsibility.
- Develop physical skills.
- Encourage self-expression and creativity.
- Foster a love of/facility in language.
- Facilitate cognitive development.
Nutrition
- Provide morning snacks, lunch and afternoon snacks.
- Meal times follow the principles and guidelines set by Healthy Start/Departe Sante which is a focus on healthy eating and creating a family meal time set up.
- Children are encouraged to serve themselves during meals, pour their drink and clean up their area once mealtime is done.
- If a child requires a specialized diet, the parent will provide snacks and meals to meet the child’s needs.
- Centre will ensure the children will not come into contact with allergens and will serve the meals to the children.

Fees
Offers full-time and part-time spaces.
Full-time: Toddlers $710 per month, Preschool $655 per month.
Part-time: Toddlers $500 per month, Preschool $450 per month.
Child Care Subsidy accepted.
