Service Description

provides grants for food, clothing, footwear, and household items. Provides assistance for medical devices, home adjustments for barrier free living, and recreation programs for individuals and families in need.

Examples include, but are not limited to: 

  • Clothing and Footwear
    • Seasonal clothing, boots, shoes, children’s clothing, work clothing, outerwear
  • Food and Basic Household Needs
    • Food, blankets, mattresses, cookware/dishes, small appliances, towels, diapers, cribs, personal hygiene
  • Medical
    • Prosthetics, eyewear, medical equipment, home adjustments for barrier free living, respite services, braille books, short-term counseling services, physiotherapy
  • Personal Development and Recreation
    • Children’s programs, camp, art supplies, books, athletic programs.

Eligibility

Applicant must be 18+ years of age Recipient must be a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident Recipient must be an individual or family in need of financial assistance related to the types of items supported by Ceridian Cares For the Basic Essentials grant type, recipient annual household income must be at or below the "Low Income Cut Off before tax" level as defined by Statistics Canada For the Quality of Life grant type, recipient annual household income must be at or below the "median total income in their province or territory" as defined by Statistics Canada Note: Ceridian Cares will not provide grants to the same recipient in consecutive years. Application Process

1. Review the Ceridian Cares Application Criteria

2. Gather all the required documents:
Recipient’s Canadian birth certificate, passport, Indian Status card, or permanent residence card
Most recent year’s Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) Notice of Assessment (include Notice of Assessments for all adults in the household)
Two quotes/estimates from vendor(s) or service provider(s) for the cost of the item(s) for which the financial assistance is being requested
Optional: Letter from a third party (e.g. Doctor, Teacher, Social Worker, Therapist)

3. Once you have the all required documents, follow the steps below to apply:
- Click on the "Apply Now" button

Fill in all the required fields of the Grant Application Form
Scan and upload all the required documents
Click "Submit"

Note:
You can expect a response within 90 days from the date of your submission, advising you of the status of your application.
A member of the Ceridian Cares team may contact you to request additional details pertaining to your application.
Ceridian Cares reserves the right to verify that funds disbursed have been used for the purposes for which they were approved.
Ceridian Cares may ask for your participation in Ceridian Cares promotional activities, but will only do so with your consent, and in accordance with their Privacy Policy.
