Service Description
For information on and to access mental health services, call the Mental Health and Addiction Services Intake Line (1-888-989-8444 or 306-786-0558).
A range of services are available for individuals over the age of 5; provided by health region and in cooperation with various non-government community organizations.
Services available include:
- Brief Therapy (one-three sessions for sudden and intense stress related to a specific cause)
- Individual Counselling (one-six sessions)
- Psycho-Educational or Treatment Groups
- Alcohol/Dug Detox (information, groups, links to resources, Naloxone kits, needle exchange program)
- Mental Health First Aid Courses
- Recovery Services (for individuals requiring ongoing support and life skills training)
- Mental Health Approved Homes (residence and assistance to people living with long term mental illness)
- Psychiatry (outpatient clinic and 15-bed inpatient unit).
Eligibility
Mental Health and Addiction Services are voluntary services for persons over the age of 5. You or your child may be referred to MHAS by someone else but you decide whether to accept or refuse services unless there is immediate (clear, detailed and current) risk of harm to self or someone else.

Contact the Mental Health and Addiction Service Intake Line (306-786-0558 or 1-888-989-8444) Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm.
When you contact Mental Health and Addiction Services, you will be connected with an intake worker whose role is to gather information from you, assess your needs and connect you with the right service(s).
Adults and Mature Minors:
- Self-referrals and referrals from health professionals are accepted.
Children ages 5-17:
- may be referred by a parent, school counsellor or physician/NP.
